Hi

I have a TP Link vr1600v Modem and It is playing up big time and I would like to replace it

As this was supplied by TPG I was wondering What a sutable replacement would be.

Thanks for your help

Hi @johnjacki ,

Welcome to the comunity!

What particular issue you experience with the modem/router?

If you wish to use a 3rd party modem/router, you need to consider the type of NBN service you have.

Any VDSL2+ modem/router should work on TPG NBN FTTN, HFC, FTTC and Fixed wireless, you need to make sure that the VLAN ID is set on '2' and the connection type is PPPoE which will require to enter TPG username and password. For TPG FTTP, any NBN router compatbile should work.

NOTE: The VoIP phone will not work on any Third party device.

Cheers!

Hi @johnjacki , please send us a private message with your TPG customer ID, username and complete address so we can pull up the account. We'd like to check if your modem is still under warranty so we can arrange a replacement. Otherwise, we'll arrange an account specialist to contact you to further discuss the cost of a new modem.
