For AX5400 wifi 6 Modem Router with VOIP Model VX420-G2v - is telephone line surge protection in-built or is it advisable to provide external telephone line surge protection (NOT referring to power line surge protection)?

Our NBN connection : Copper wire from house to the electricity pole then copper wire from the electricity pole to the node. Our plan: NBN FTTN Broadband SL Bundle 25

Hey, estherpearl

Phone line surge use is to protect against power surges by diverting excess electrostatic discharge energy, faulty wiring or lightning away from dataline/phone line connections that could affect the performance of Home Phone service. We no longer advise to use the Phone Line Surge Protector since NBN's phone service is VoIP ready.

Let us know should you require further assistance.

Regards,
