Using Archer1600v with tp-link deco m5 mesh

Hi,
I’m going to set up a tplink deco m5 mesh network, using the supplied archer 1600v as the modem. Can I just turn off the wifi on the 1600v? Or do I have to set it to bridge mode?
Thank you!

Hi @Roundy77

We do not support 3rd party equipment but I can see no reason why this would not work and there would be no compatibility issues with the TP-Link modem.

You may need to enable the WPS function on your TPG modem to connect the DECO M5 device. Here's a link that will help you do this: How to Enable WPS on TP-Link VR1600v

Thanks!

Thanks Ahra. So I don’t need to put the archer in bridge mode? There are other articles saying it should be put in bridge mode in order to connect a separate router?
