archer v1600v v2 network mapping usb drive

hi,

i want to use the usb port on the back of my archer v1600v v2,

i want to use it as a directory for plex, instead of having to use a pc as a server

so i need to have the 500gig hard drive i have attached ( or i can attach a 256g usb stick) appear as a regular drive so i can make it work.

i try and map a network location but windows keep telling me that the device is not ready, but, the device shows up when i log into the router.

Hi @mattafro1 . Is the storage device formatted FAT32 or NTFS?

Have you enabled Network Discovery and File Sharing via Control Panel?

The device should show in Windows Explorer under Network as Archer_...

I don't think you can map it using Windows Explorer, Tools, Map network drive...
