fax thru IP on HFC connection

The router supplied as part of a small business bundle for NBN only has 4 ethernet ports.  Is it possible to connect a fax m/c via an ATA to one of these ports?  Would a 'bizphone' support the fax over that connection please?

@Ascidian99 if you have TPG NBN and you wish to use a VOIP service from a different provider then I do not see any issues with that. Please note that TPG will provide the internet connection, any settings /support required with the VOIP will be configured/provided by the VOIP provider, no advance modification will be done as well on the modem.

Fax is possible with TPG NBN, but you may want to check with your preferred VOIP provider regarding it's requirements.

As for your bizphone query, please advise if we are talking abut TPG biz phone?

Kind regards,

Joseph_D, thanks  but it looks as if I may have accidentally misled you by mentioning IP - no thoughts about an alternative VOIP provider, it'll be pure TPG.

I am considering using a TPG small business bundle with two TPG Biz Phones.  I would like to know if it's possible to support a fax machine with that configuration?

The router supplied with the business bundle has 4 digital (/ethernet) ports but no analog ports.  To get round the physical connection problem I'm considering using an ATA (possibly a CISCO SPA112).  But how to effect the service connection?  Would a TPG Biz Phone service run through the ATA do the job, or is their some other way?

@Ascidian99 thanks for the clarification. TPG Biz Phone equipment are pre configured and will be provided by TPG.

TPG NBN bundles have home phone service that comes with it. The modem we supply for Fibre to the Node, Fibre to the Building, Fibre to the Curb and HFC are equipped with 2 sockets for the home phone. Please note that only socket #1 is functional and is pre configured with the home phone settings. You can plug your fax there but we can never guarantee that it would work or that it would be stable.

Please see the "connecting your equipment" part on https://community.tpg.com.au/t5/Broadband-Internet/Fibre-to-the-Node-Building-NBN-FTTN-FTTB-Setup-Gu...

Kind regards,

Joseph_D, thanks for your reply, but my question relates to a Business Bundle because it is for our business address.

Are you suggesting that I could use a home bundle for a business?

If so, would the home bundle support a second phone - ie a Biz Phone, as the second analog phone port is not active.
