huawai hg659 issues with access point routers

Hi

I have succesfully run for many years this situation: Huawai HG659 --->via ethernet cables ---->2 routers (access point) wifi----->devices. 

For some reason Huawai HG659 is not allowing data flow to router anymore but will allow if ethernet is direct into a laptop. 

Do i need a new Modem/Router from tpg?

I have tried resetting everything with no benefit.
