FTTN just connected, unable to connect VX220-G2v modem to internet

I have just had FTTN connected to my premises and now have to connect my TP-Link VX220-G2v modem to use it. I have connected the grey DSL cable to the phone socket as directed and turned the modem on. The blue wifi lights come on, but the internet light does not. What should I do next?
