Installing a modem

I am a landlord, and about to take back over my rental apartment where the last tenant had a TPG Fibre to the building connection. The tenant has moved out and left the old TPG modem plugged in. I have just set up a new TPG account, and a  TPG modem has been mailed to me. So what will happen if I simply plug the new modem instead of the old modem? Do I still need a TPG technician to attend?

We usually send an email instruction to the e-mail address associated with the account this will provide information if the installation of the the service has been completed, but you may also track it by visiting this link (

Once the installation is completed,  you can take the old modem out ( From old tenant ) and replace it with the new one.
