NBN Connection Device Required or Not ?

Hello,

I have opted for TPG for NBN broadband when I moved to my new home. TPG has shipped the Wireless router to my address, but there was no NBN Connection Device in the shipment. I have already received the following SMS.

"Action Required: Your TPG NBN service is awaiting activation. Please connect your NBN modem as soon as possible to activate"

However, I am not clear if I need to wait for the NBN Connection Device to arrive before connecting the TPG Wireless Router. Or is it that NBN Connection Device is not required for my address?
