NBN not working (setting up)

Followed instructions on the box of the AC1600 modem router after receiving it. As there is no NBN box (and the email I received from TPG said we wouldn't need one), I connected it to a phone port in the wall as per the instructions (it's one of those old wide ones though, there's no squarish ethernet port in the wall anywhere). I've waited much more than the instructed 15 minutes after connecting and switching on the modem router and the only the power, 2.4G and 5G lights are on - the DSL light just blinks twice or four times occasionally. Attached are images of the connection and modem as well as the latest updates I've received - I thought the text implied that my service was ready to go but the install status site appears to suggest otherwise, so I'm still confused.
