Nbn Missed installation

Hey, I think I sent my request from the website that I just missed the appointment installation also told the guy from the phone very clearly that Nothing wrong with my modem. Why would I have to be at home for?
Today the technician guy called me that he was at my house to check the modem.
I dont understand i just got the modem and plugged it in and never use it how come that will have any problem? I need just the new appointment to installation not check something like you just sent the email to me i dont need to be at home like first time. Can you answer me thru the email asap pls. I need my internet!!! And i wont pay for it if i didnt use it!
