No internet. NBN modem clicking. No outage reported in area

Hi,

No internet. NBN modem clicking & getting warm. No outage reported in area.

Have completed troubleshooting including restart & checking cabling, now advises to contact service provider but been on hold on phone for almost an hour with no indication of how long I need to wait. Is the Helpdesk even open?

Any help or advice appreciated, box & connection only installed 1 month ago & need wifi for work.

If the service is not affected by an outage, then there's a possible fault within the NBN network.
