No internet - internet light not coming on

I got a text today saying my NBN service is awaiting activation. I have switched on the modem and the internet light is not lighting up. Has been over 2 hours. The power, DSL, 2.4G and 5G lights are light up. I can also connect to the WiFi but it doesn’t work... how can I fix?
