Not connecting fttc

I moved house and I was told my service was active. I really had to make sure it was sorted before I moved in as internet for my work is crucial. I was told as soon as I plug in the new modem my service would switch over. Now the fttc box won't connect. Phone support tells me there is a line error and it won't get looked at until the 22nd... this is not acceptable for me. Plus then they just end the call on me with no added information or help?
I am starting to think I need to look elsewhere for a internet service asap. This kind of thing should be checked before telling me the service is active...
