Ticking noise

Hi, Ive tried calling tpg 5 times and have been hung up on everyone so I'll try here, the nbn box seems to be making a ticking sound every minute or so and won't progress to actually getting an internet connection. It's brand new and we haven't been able to use the internet for a week because of it. Does anyone else have tips for fixing this problem? Cheers
