Using a adsl remote splitter with nbn FTTN

Hi. I have been running nbn fttn with TPG for a few years now and it’s only recently occurred to me that I still have a remote splitter installed. I haven’t really had any connection issues but I’m on the nbn100 plan and I don’t generally get a down speed of anything more than 55mbps, could removing this splitter have any effect on speed? Thanks in advance!
