Using call waiting on nbn fttc vr1600v2 modem

I just installed FTTC NBN.

My phone connects to the supplied VR1600v2 modem.

I now find I get TPG supplied version of call waiting.

I can not find any instructions on using TPG call waiting other than "requires flash or recall button on phone"

How do I actually use TPG version of call waiting?
