Can’t connect to mobile network

Have just joined TPG and received my new SIM card. I have done everything they said to do. Have received txt from old provider and replied so I can have my old number. But new sim won’t work has been 2 days and still not working. Have restarted phone and nothing. Any help would be appreciated
