Phone activation

Hi

I have been using an old cheap unlocked Samsung mobile that was running on the 2g network. This network has now been turned off and I am in the process of utalising an old unlocked iphone (ModleA1332) that my wife once used. This iphone is working in SOS mode and still needs the old password to activate it.

I have inserted the sim card from my old phone into the iphone without any resuly, but this is about the extent of my tech ability as I am in my 70s. I expect that there is some process of switching from one sim to another.

Can anybody advise me in simple terms as to what steps that I should take to get the iphone functional.

Apologies if we have overlooked the notes on your account, @Cruisen210.

We can see that you have been in touch with one of our mobile specialists yesterday, who advised you to contact Apple to check the phone status  and to contact Telstra to get the network code.

Should you require any assistance, feel free to drop us a message. Thank you.
