Roaming, unable to receive International SMS

Hi TPG Support,

I am overseas and I have International Roaming activated. I can receive phone calls and SMS messages originating from +61 numbers but calls and SMS messages from +670 numbers (where I am currently located), do not seem to get through. Can you please help?  Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the community!

 

We'd like to confirm what troubleshooting have you done so far.

Please try to do the following.

 

  • Restart handset
  •  Do SMS Loop  Send SMS to your own number
  • Check if this only happen to 1 provider.

Hi Shane

Greetings. I have sent you my account details in a private message.

Basically, phone calls are working. The problem is with SMS. It seems I can only receive SMS originating from +61xxx. I am not able to receive sms sent from local phone numbers. Also I am not able to send an SMS. Not to local numbers nor +61xxx.

Hi @doprint, a Mobile Specialist has tried contacting you yesterday to no avail. 

 

You may respond directly to the SMS sent by the officer for further assistance.

Thanks for your message.

One little problem: Yes, I received the SMS messages from the Mobile Specialist, but I could not reply to him/her, as I have not been able to send SMS from my TPG number yet. I did try to text him/her using my overseas mobile number though. With kind regards

The assigned officer has left an update on the raised fault. 

 

Please try to manually connect with our local partner network which in this case is TLSTC Telkomsel. If that still does not work, you may also try selecting other networks that are available.
