Crazy symbols in chariot webmail?

When I receive emails from some folk that include an apostrophe or some other symbol, Chariot webmail turns it into gobbledegook like the Euro sign for their currency or like  the french "a" with a hat !

Can I please have my inbox emails delivered just  in plain English alphabetical letters?
