About 1 - 3 times per day the NBN service drops out at my address. This frequency has been slowly but noticeably increasing over a period of 3 months. The time of occurrence of each dropout is random as far as I can tell. Duration of connection loss is 5 - 10 minutes per dropout. The router log records a "ppp3 Timeout waiting for PADO packets" several times per week. We have had complications in the NBN installation, including the accidental severing of the cable from curb to house by council workers. We also have had Foxtel cable installed in the past for which some cabling may still exist in this NBN installation. Our Foxtel service now is by satellite. I and my housemates use the internet for work-related communications such as Zoom and Skype. Dropouts are a serious problem to us regardless of when or for how long they occur.
