I can get to some places. Gmail works but slashdot.net, speedtest.org, Discord and a stack of others don't. I rang support yesterday and a reset fixed it but that's not working now. TPG website works but your speedtest doesn't. Thanks

I'm trying to get a rooted TC789 to connect to your network. I've tried all the settings visible in the Tplink GUI. Is the secret sauce I'm missing hidden here? I'm ssh'd into /etc/config and ready to start editing files. Is there a full list of modem settings anywhere? Thanks

I've been through that. The sim isn't showing up on my NBN account. It's a free one TPG have given me. I threw out the paper work. My phone can't tell the number and the ringback number can't get out. Are you allowed to look up my account and PM me the number? Thanks

It's definitely running OpenWRT. I'm SSH'd in so if a setting isn't in the GUI I can edit the config files. I'm fine with Vi. Is the hardware compatible? I tried SSH on the Archer but I get a connection refused. If I could read its config files I'd be able . I've been having connection problems since Feb. I thought the freezing was my ancient Wifi dongle dropping out. Since I figured out it was the modem freezing

I know I have a line problem. I always look at the connection speed. Too many variables with Speedtest. It connects anywhere between 9k and 40k down. I've installed a new gui on the modem. I'm pretty sure it runs a custom Openwrt. I can set the Vlan ID with this Gui. I've attached a screenshot.

Don't cancel anything. I moved years ago and now I'm back in an area TPG services. You've been the best provider I've ever used. None of the current problems have anything to do with TPG. I just don't like the phone calls and you've solved that problem.

I was getting locked out of the Wifi and having to cycle the modem to get back on so I used the Wifi on another router and connected it to the Archer via ethernet. The other router reports "error" on eth3. The lights are on. Nobody's home. This been happening for a couple of weeks. Every few days at different times it freezes. It's just done it sitting a meter from the open front door and it's 15C here so it can't be overheating. I've restored it to default with a paper clip. I've tried a different power point. I'm trying a power supply but don't think that's the problem. I had the remote log set to "notice" and couldn't see any pattern before the lock up. I've set it to debug now. Edit It just locked up and the last line of the log was "DSL link up" I've got connection problems too. I've connected between 9k and 40k in the last 2 weeks. I think that's a separate issue but maybe not. If anyone knows the settings I need to get a hacked MyRepublic Technicolor 789 online I'll try it.

Hi Shane Thank you so much. I wish I'd known about TPG Community earlier. They started a new account for my phone when I had to cancel my internet due to me moving to somewhere you didn't service so my old records are gone. 1999-2012 the only time I called TPG was to sign up. Flawless. What has the NBN done to you? Thanks

My last email to TPG had "DON'T RING ME EVER AGAIN." repeated about 25 times. Why can't the phone staff take a hint. A least 4 times I've asked them not to ring me again. I don't want to hear "It's out of our control. NBN blah blah blah" for the 30th time. SMS, Email and here is fine. I promise never to ring them or use the phone app to report a problem if you can save me from the onslaught of inane phone calls by reporting faults here. Shane, please save me!!

This guy and a few other places say it runs a customised OpenWRT. I rooted the modem and copied a file called vbnt-l_16.3.7190-2761003-20170907085601-501361d1f0abcd3206e49f0897c4a6cca07a114d.rbi 17MB to it. help iinet net au/how-setup-tg-789-broadband-gateway-nbn fttbn "Plug a phone cable from the telephone wall socket into the grey DSL port on your TG-789". How do you know the wan port is eth4? 0-3 are probably lan ports but 4 could could be either wan or vlan. I've got the wan port turned off. It's definitely not ready. I think next is ssh in and see if I can work out the network ports. Edit. OpenWRT supports Vlan ID

I'm trying to get my MyRepublic modem to work with TPG. My Archer keeps kicking 2 phones and the PC off the WIFi and you need to restart the modem before any will log back in. I couldn't get it to work as it was so I rooted the modem and I've got a new gui. I think it's running OpenWRT. Wan Interface VDSL Wan Type PPP over Ethernet Vlan ID Mine defaults to 835. Log in to your modem and check the connection speed. It's the bottom box on the "Advanced " tab on the Archer. It's fast to do and it will tell you if it's the modem/line(low connection speed) or the PC/network (normal connection speed)

I'm 300 mtrs walk from my nearest node and 350 from another. Current Rate (kbps) 8539, 29884 Max Rate (kbps) 8535, 30949 SNR Margin (dB) 5.7, 6.7 Line Attenuation (dB) 46.2, 24.7 Errors (pkts) 00 The line has been fixed™ twice? The connection from kerb to socket was faulty when I moved in. It rained too much and the pit developed a fault. Both have been fixed™. The modem connects at ~29Mbs and off peak I get 28 Mbs on the TPG speed test. My previous NBN 50 connected at 45+Mbs and averaged around 45Mbs on Okla. The node was 200 meters away. Edit It's all Malcom Turnbulls fault. TPG are just trying to deal with his failure.
