I am posted this to get some feedback for a friend who is not tech minded.
He had a new phone he bought from China, he started getting messages about the 3G shutdown each time he tried to make a call.
Eventually that New 5G phone would not make calls, he contacted TPG about financial hardship with buying a new phone, he was sent out a small push button mobile phone and a new sim, this new phone and new sim still have that same message he has to listen to before he can make a call.
So I gave him my phone to use as I bought a new one, we put the sim on that phone (which i was using myself up till a few days ago), it worked fine after the 3G shutdown and passed all test and I never had that 3G message, We put his sim in that phone now he is listening to the same message before you make a call.
He has contacted TPG support several times to have it fixed, they send a new sim, a new phone and still playing up.
Sadly for him he has mental issues that do not give him the patients to wait in a call and he is now suffering high levels of stress. I told him to stop calling TPG and call the Communications Ombudsman and get them to sort it out. I do not think he can handle that stress either.
Im am posting here to find out if others have the same issues and if it was fixed how? so I can help my friend before he could possible do something silly or harm himself.
