Calls from nbn about internet security

I received a call from a person claiming to be from nbn, letting me know that there is a security issue with my internet wifi and that someone from overseas was trying to hack it. The number seemed to be coming from Canada. After I hung up, he called again multiple times with different mobile numbers and tried to have me connect my computer to the wifi. I am wondering if this was legitimate or a scam?

Thanks for raising this matter to us. NBN co will never contact you should you have internet hacking issues. It is possible that you received a nuisance call. We strongly recommend to disregard such call/s and do not give out any of your personal information.
