Changing your WiFi password on your TPG Modem Archer - Protocol

srinis

We have the Archer 1600v modem - supplied for the NBN.

The current default password that we have is the one at the bottom of the modem. What is the protocol of the default security password WPA/WEP etc.

If we changed the password for the 2.5g & 5g as given in your modem guide - would this affect VOIP etc.,

Also, when we change the password - would this be WPA/WEP ? The reason is I want to make sure that we have the stronger protocol (be it the default/changed one).

Hi @srinis,

Welcome to TPG Community!

Changing your WiFi password will not affect your VoIP, etc.

The default Authentication type is WPA/WPA2-PSk, which will allow you to use an alphanumeric password for more secured network.
