FTTP IP changing multiple times a day

higarashi
Level 2

Hello,

I am aware that dynamic IPs are in use on Residential accounts that's perfectly fine - but what has been happening for the past few months is that my IP address will change multiple times a day. I mean like 5 or more times a day. The modem is not resetting itself. The router has been replaced, it happens across any device.

Is it now normal for TPG to just hand out new DHCP leases that often to FTTP users? quite annoying if it is now standard

Hi @higarashi,

Welcome to TPG Community!

We tried to locate your account using your community details, but failed to find a match.

Changing of IPs on a residential plan should not be that frequent. We'd like to check the session of your service if it's dropping and check the NBN network for possible faults.

Please shoot me a private message with your TPG username or CID number.

Kind regards,

BasilDV

Hi @higarashi,

Thanks for sending your account details via PM.

I've run some remote test and have seen multiple session, which is why you are receiving different IPs from time to time.

On your NBN NTD Box, there's a tiny reset button on the bottom of it, which is in between UNI-V2 and UNI-D1. Please press and hold for 30 seconds. The lights on it should flash as a sign that's it is refreshed.

Keep us posted if it's going to resolve the issue.

Kind regards,

BasilDV

hey mate thanks for the reply. I reset the fttp modem. Less than 30 minutes later my IP was renewed. This is some of the log. So 11:26 I reset the modem, 12:30 the IP changed again. I'm not sure what else to do but it's frequent enough to be quite annoying on the dynamic IP.

I cant send PMs says I've sent too many (1) I removed my username I don't care about the ip's listed because they change so frequently it doesnt matter anyway

I am regularly experiencing the same issue, and have posted about it on another thread. My IP address can change a few times an hour, which causes all sorts of issues.

Please PM me for my account details so we can sort this out.
