High ping in fortnite

Hi. I am on NBNFTTC BROADBAND SL BUNDLE 100. I am having problems with extremely high pings when playing Fortnite (over 1,000 ms).

Could I please get some help with this?

On what server are you connecting at? Is it AU, Asia, etc.?

Are you connected via WiFi or Wired? What troubleshooting have you tried so far?

Thanks for replying.

I am located in Sydney, and connecting to Oceania server. My PS5 is connecting to my router via Wifi (I don’t have the ability to do it via wired). The wifi signal is strong in the area of the house where the PS5 is. I have tried resetting the router by switching it off but it doesn’t help things.

I have done a TPG Speedtest, and I am getting the following results:

Ping: 6ms
Down: 97.1 mbps
Up: 18.8 mbps

I have 0% packet loss, just very high ping

We need to eliminate the possible signal interference issue.

Do you have any computer that can be connected via Wired?

We need to test the tracert and ping using the command prompt.

Hi @Phresh . The figures you quoted above are about as good as you can get on NBN100 even with ethernet.

The ping and tracert commands require you to know the ip address of the game server you use, usually hard to find out. Slow game response usually due to bad routing between TPG and game server.
