High to gaming dota2 servers

Hi all,

Just recently signed up with unlimited superfast FTTB, overall satisfied with the speed except during gaming session. The ping to all other servers seems to be very high.

Hi @Reion

Welcome to TPG Community!

Did you test it via a WiFi or a Wired connection?

Also, I'll arrange a call from our Tech team to test this further as we are not able to detect any fault within the FTTB network.

Please send us a PM with your preferred time and best number to be contacted?

Hi @BasilDV,

Yes I have and unfortunately, there has been no improvement so I tried out using my Nord vpn as per this forum post (https://community.tpg.com.au/t5/Broadband-Internet/Routing-to-AWS-EC2-instances-in-SEA-Singapore-fro...) my ping has drastically improved from 250 to 100ms.

So is there any way your team can do something for me to improve my ping?

Hi @Reion

Would you be able to post a screenshot of the Traceroute when you're using NordVPN or when connected to a different service provider?

Regards,

Will

With Nord VPN connected to the Melbourne server, I was getting 80- 100 ms with 0 packet loss which I am fine with. But once VPN is turned off the ping goes back to 250ms with 0 packet loss and that severely interferes with gaming.

Many thanks.
