I have an NBN connection with TPG supplied NetComm modem. Although my physical address of desktop PC is in Melbourne and I am not using VPN, my IP address is always shown Seoul, South Korea. Why is this the case?
Presumably because whatever mechanism you are using to geo-locate your IP address is out of date.
There have been many re-allocations and purchases of IP ranges over the years, there is a central registry that tries to keep them all straight but I can't recall where it is ATM.
