Mailserver not working again

Mail client repeatedly asking for password, which it then ignores.

@alanguide are you still experiencing the same problem? We've had a few reports about this but it should be okay now. If the issue persist please advise us.

Yes Joseph. It did eventually come good, although during the time it was repeatedly asking for a password I could not get into the TPG Post Office either. When it came good, I got a shoal of spam that got through depite my filters on the TPG Post Office so I suppose the issues are related?
