Hey Shaun,

You can try logging in to your modem to see the upstream and downstream that you are getting. Most of the time you can access the modem's page by typing 192.168.1.1 on the browser's address bar.

You may also refer to your modem's manual for more info about accessing your modem page.

Hi,

Thanks for responding. So I am on the base plan NBN12, have just looked at my Link Rate on the modem (Netgear D7000) and its 13960 Kbps down and 2080 Kbps up. So I am assuming that upgrading to the NBN50 plan wouldn't actually give me much / any improvement?

Hi @shaunandemily,

Welcome to TPG Community!

If you are under NBN 12, your sync speed should only be 12 Mbps, but you are getting more around 13 Mbps. If you changed to NBN 50 then there's a possibility that you'll get the same sync speed of 50 Mbps. However, Internet speeds indicated are maximum theoretical speeds only. This doesn't mean that you will experience the maximum speeds at all times. Actual throughput speeds may be slower and could vary due to many factors including type/source of content being downloaded, hardware and software configuration, the number of users simultaneously using the network and performance of interconnecting infrastructure not operated by TPG. Devices connected by Wi-Fi may experience slower speeds than those connected by Ethernet cable.
