Own Router for NBN HFC

Can I use my own Router/Firewall as restart is always needed with the TP-Link Provided?

Welcome to TPG Community!

Yes, you may use your own router, however, the VoIP phone that is bundled for the NBN HFC service will not work.

The settings for the VoIP is embedded in the firmware of the TPG provided modem/routers.

You may check in some discussions in the community about using a third party router for NBN HFC for more information.

Hi Brian,

I have an Archer 1600 but I want to buy an Archer AX6000 or similar. If I plug a diffrent router it should work automatically?...I  remember trying a Dlink router and it did not connerct to your network.

Are there any settings that need configuration?
