Re-configuring Archer Vr1600v for different NBN type

Hi, can I use a vr1600v router configured for someone else NBN account to be used on mine? I'm going to buy one as spare (at giveaway price) from someone who no longer using it but I do not know which NBN Technology it was configured for. I do understand I need to put in my log in account and password, but what else? Need advise ASAP as I'm picking it up this evening. TIA.

Bought the router and found out it was also for HFC. Factory reset the router and connected it online but didn't work. It's very late now, so will try again tomorrow putting in my name and password and see if that helps.....later...

Putting in my username and password got the internet going but not the phone. Oh well......Subject closed....
