Hi, I noticed my router has a new firmware update the other day and decided to do a factory reset over the weekend. Now after the reset, the internet is working again, but the phone is not. I realise the phone can sometime take a little while to re-connect, but I've waited for hours already and hence decided to ask for help. I've already sent an email to forum_admin@tpg.com.au but has not yet received a reply. So I thought I better come here hopefully can get a quiker response from someone. Thanks. Regards, TK

Hi, yesterday some of my wifi devices failed to connect to the router's 5ghz wifi, but had no problem connecting to the 2.4ghz channel. They've worked after I power cycled the router, and also had to forget and re-established the connection. Anyway I had a look into the router's system log and it looked suspicious to me, eventhough I don't really know what they meant. 2 things I noticed was, there's quite a few lines regarding VOIP, and only 2 dates jumping from 1/1/2016 straight to 12/10/2022 (yesterday)! From your description it sound like the cable is dodgy rather than too long. Just out of curiousity how long is it anyway? Also wondering if that's the reason why your Nighthawk was freezing up? Any interest to reconnect the Nighthawk to find out?

Oops, thanks David64. It has worked. Because of all the different ports put in by Gmail automatically, I've decided to edit the settings manually and must have accidentally put in 100 instead of 110. I've also changed security to STARTTLS as you suggested, and it automatically changed the port to 110. TPG mail response is really slow though! Feels like taking forever to come in. Anyway, what matters is it's working. Thanks again.

Hi, are the instructions here up to date? https://www.tpg.com.au/support/android.php I'm trying to set up on my Android phone using Gmail app and it's not working with those settings. Post office works without any problem. I mean, seriously, port 100 and 25, security none? Gmail seems to suggest port numbers like 995, 465, 587 etc. What's going on?

Bought the router and found out it was also for HFC. Factory reset the router and connected it online but didn't work. It's very late now, so will try again tomorrow putting in my name and password and see if that helps.....later...

Hi, can I use a vr1600v router configured for someone else NBN account to be used on mine? I'm going to buy one as spare (at giveaway price) from someone who no longer using it but I do not know which NBN Technology it was configured for. I do understand I need to put in my log in account and password, but what else? Need advise ASAP as I'm picking it up this evening. TIA.
