Separate SSID names?

How do I create separate SSID names for my TP -link AX5400 VX420-G2V router? It only has one wifi connection even though it’s dual band.

When I log into the modem there isn’t a 5G name like there usually is.

Seems both 2.4 & 5GHz have the exact same name and I want to have separate names

Hi @barber90 . Login to router admin and change the SSID name of one of the bands. The 5G band usually has   -5G   added to the name of the 2.4G band. 

AX5400 indicates the wifi speed of the router and isn't the model number.

The router model is TP -link VX420-G2V.

@barber90 . There's little info on the VX420. Have a look at the Multi-SSID tab underneath Wireless.

Hi @barber90 

Log in to the router. Select Wireless Settings (Advanced).

Switch off Band Steering and you will be able to select and rename each band. Keeping it On makes devices automatically switch to the best available signal.

Thank you @prackashprant the Band Steering was what I needed to turn off to discover the separate SSID names
