Thunderbird has just updated and will not access my TPG email account.
What settings are required to allow Thunderbird to access my account.
I am still able to connect via my android tablet and phone.(so far).

Have a read through this.
A moderator produced this article for Thunderbird.
You'll notice near the end that SSL is set to NONE, so all communication is not encrypted. Thunderbird v78 has deprecated SSL/TLS below TLSv1.2.
