TP Link Archer vr1600v powering off automatically

Hi, my TP Link Archer vr1600v has developed a fault where it will power off automatically, even though the power button is in the On position. Turning it off and back on will turn it on again, but then it powers off soon after. I’ve tried other power points but the issues persists.

Hi @smartazz104

Have you tried to factory reset the modem/router? If not, try it as well.

We'd like to check if the device is still under warranty. Shoot me a PM with your TPG username or customer ID number.

Hi Basil,

Strange thing, I left it off overnight and then plugged it back in this morning and it’s been working ever since. Hopefully it was just a weird one-off thing.

Mine has the same issue, happens 1-2 times a month. Restarting it fixes it, but it shouldn't do that.

Hi @hmozart

Aside from rebooting the device, have you tried to perform a factory reset?

If not, please try it first and observe it for 48 hours.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi,

I am seeing the same behaviour repeatedly with my Archer VR1600v modem. I lose wifi connection, and when I go to the modem, all LEDs are off. If I reboot, it starts working again.

As suggested to other forum users, I performed a factory reset two days ago. However, another member of the household reported a temporary outage yesterday. I was not there to check the modem status so cannot confirm if it was the same situation.

FYI, the LAN link between the modem and my TV is up for 5s then down for 5s on a repeating cycle when my TV is powered off (on standby). Is this normal for the link to switch off and on so frequently?

Thanks for your time.
