Hi @caroho,
Thanks for the details. You do not need to include 'TPG' to the username.
Username/Email should be 'username@tpg.com.au' only
I.E: shane@tpg.com.au.
Let me know how it will go.
Regards,
I have tried the various suggestions on this forum but still no joy at all. Very frustrating using the the Post Office when all email are deleted after 30 days. Why is this issue still unresolved?
Hi @dpoles,
Welcome to the community!
I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with Outlook 2016 and TPG e-mails.
Are you having the exact error message as shown by the original poster?
Are you having the same issue with other e-mail clients?
Just an FYI for a POP3

You can upgrade your e-mail account to IMAP, email in an IMAP account can always be viewed using any Internet connection or almost any email client, until it is permanently deleted by the user. The user also has the option to save the messages locally.

Hi all,
I had this problem too and recently found a way to get this to work. The issue I had was that I couldn't properly configure the account using the new account setup interface in MS Outlook 2016. Fortunately you can access the old account setup interface from the Windows control panel.
Close Outlook, go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Mail, click Email Accounts... button, from that interface you should be able to add a new or update an existing TPG email account.

Thanks Andy
Confirmed this solution works for Outlook 2016.
You still have to set up manually as Outlook uses the full email address as the user name and gets stuck.
I cannot get it to work and get this strange error
Task 'XXXXXX@tpg.com.au - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Cannot send the message. Verify the email address in your account properties. The server responded: 535 5.7.8 [TPG-A02] Authentication denied. User XXXXXXX@tpg.com.au is banned from using SMTP AUTH due to previous abuse'
