Home phone not receiving landline calls from some people

Hi

We can't get calls from other landlines. We don't know they can't get though. It's just some have then tried again on their mobiles. Which we do get. The automated response is when people phone is 'you have dialed a invalid access code.'

We have tried to get this fixed as even the doctor can't get through. It has been fixed with the doctor. But not to everyone. We know of 5 phones that can't contact us, one has TPG as the provider, one Westnet, 2 with Southern & the doctor was with someone else (can't remember). We were with TPG, but changed to Telstra because we couldn't get anything working with TPG. They kept telling us it was the modem that was not working. We tried 3 different modem's and they didn't make any difference. So we have tried to get this problem fixed with Telstra and have had no luck. Everything appears fine at there end. We noticed a local phone directory that is independant that don'e have us listed, but do have others around town of friends who we know. So we phoned them to inquire why we don't appear and how to get listed in the local phone directory. They looked up our number and told us the number comes up with 'disconnected'. So I'm now wondering if TPG can list us as 'disconnected' while Telstra list us as connected. We are connected and can make calls. Any ideas. ? This is driving us nuts....

Hi

Is it possible that TPG have us listed as disconnected when we have changed provider. ?
