How do I disable call waiting on an NBN VOIP service? I called the contact centre and was alternately told
1) That we had to turn it off on our end, then with some additional prodding and much waiting on hold
2) That it had been turned off but would take 24-48 hours to take effect.
After waiting a couple of days it is still active. What I'm looking for is the phone to behave like a normal phone, i.e. if I'm on the phone and someone rings they get a busy tone.
Reading other forum posts the solved solutions are a bit vague on what actually solved the problem. Is there something I can do on my end to disable it, or a particular phrasing I should use to make sure I"m clearly explaining what I"m asking for when I call the contact centre to avoid being told it's fixed when it isn't?
