home phone sounds busy but Internet works

Hi All,

I have been away for 5 weeks and just came back the other day and turned my HG695 modem back on. The Internet connections are fine but my home home will not work. When I pick the phone line up it sounds like a busy signal. I can dial the number from another phone and get my anwering machine but I cannot dial out.

Does that make any sense?

We were able to locate your account using your community details and was not able to detect any fault within the Home phone service of your NBN. It is showing active and registered on your account.

Are you able to check if the handset is connected to the designated phone port 1? If yes, are you able to try another phone cable or handset (if available)?

Also, try to connect the handset to phone port 2 if it's going to work.
