Arris cm8200

Hello TPG
I just moved in my new house and there is one black modem (arris cm8200) at home and when i serched it and it said nbn is available at my address and i paid for nbn 50 ($74.99) Do i need to buy router ? Or i can use only this modem and connect with tpg?

If you are thinking of connecting devices via WiFi, then you need a router or a modem/router, depending on the type of service you'll apply.

If you'll get the NBN bundled with VoIP service, then you need a modem/router that can be configured with VLAN ID 2.

If it's a data only plan, then you can purchase either of them as you are not required to set the VLAN ID.

Thanks for your reply. I just wanna use wifi at home so is it possible to use only one black modem box (arris cm8200) or do i need to buy a router and connect to cm 8200 modem??

Hi @junwoopark

Yes, you need to purchase a router or a modem/router as the NBN NTD box (ARRIS), will not give you a WiFi connection.
