Hi,
I have an ASUS DSL-AC68U modem/Router and would like to use it to connect to the NBN in place of the Huawei that was sent to me.
Does anyone know if this can be done and how to go about doing it and what settings should be used?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Yo, @jhbutch
What type of NBN service do you have? It seems it's only good for NBN FTTN or FTTB service. It's also listed as Working advanced modem/routers
Model: ASUS DSL-AC68U
Status: Working after configuration.
Chipset: Mediatek MT7510
Features: AC1900, 4-port Gigabit, USB3
Bridge Mode Available: Yes
Great compatibility
Compatible with ADSL2/2+, ADSL, VDSL2, fiber and cable services
I found this on https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/fttn_registered_modem_router
Hi Tony,
I have FTTN, thanks for the link to Whirlpool I will check it out.
Have you connected one yourself?
You're welcome bud !
Yep, but I got NBN FTTP tho. Works fine for me

Hey, just wondering if you have any luck getting this setup to work?
I also have just got TPG HFC NBN, and own the Asus DSL-AC68U. I also have the Asus RT-AC68U so thinking I may just use that as the router for the TPG Huawei modem, as I can't seem to find much on people using the DSL-AC68U with TPG HFC
Had to sell mine.
Spent days trying to connect.
There was no advice on the TPG or Asus websites.
Bloody frustrating.
Hi, is there any user with DSL-AU64U have issue with TPG vlan ID 2.
I called ASUS and they keep saying this modem should working and the issue is with TPG but this is not TPG issue. I am going to log complent with Australian Consumer law so looking for more users to join as this is Asus issue and they not accepting this or offer any fixes.
reply to this or message me if there Option for PM so more users complain join then it will be a strong case.
I have some evidence but looking for more users
