Cheap ADSL2+ Modem

I'm considering buying a commonly available low cost modem for my ADSL2+ and phone service.

The two on my short list are the TP-LINK N300 Wireless Modem Router TD-W8961N

and the D-Link N300 Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router DSL-2740M.

Would these work OK and are there any known disadvantages?

Most of the modems suggested by TPG seem to be expensive or unavailable or both.

I'd buy the one available modem from TPG but I would have difficulty being home for delivery.

Hi @rapsonchris

We do not recommend or endorse any particular brand of modem.

Nonetheless, I can see that this modem (Netgear AC1200 VDSL/ADSL Modem Router D6220) can work on our ADSL2+ connection.

Good day @rapsonchris.

Welcome to TPG Community!

Those devices are compatible with the TPG ADSL2+ service and seems have some great reviews from the consumers online.

Let's see if one of our community people is using the same device for some input.

Thanks for your reply.

Do you thing that there would be a worthwhile advantage in going to a more much expensive router like the Netgear AC1200 VDSL/ADSL Modem Router D6220 and would that router be compatible with TPG's ADSL2+?
