I have just switched to TPG and have the AC1600 tp-link router. I have a Netgear wi fi range extender that’s about ten years old - model is WN3500RP. I’m struggling to get the router & wi fi extender working together. Are they compatible? Should I persist or replace the wi fi range extender?

Hi David64,
It’s sorted! Yesterday the extender Wi-Fi network was nowhere to be found, today it was there and the setup was very simple from there. Thanks very much for your reply
cheers, Darren

Hi. How far have you got with the extender?

Do you have internet access with ethernet and wifi devices with the AC1600?

On AC1600, wifi and wps must be enabled.

The extender has to be placed within range of the AC1600. You can tell by the 2.4G and 5G signal strength leds on the extender.

The extender has an ethernet port to test the wifi connection back to the AC1600.
