PPPoE

PPPoE is short for Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet. This protocol was designed for ISPs to manage how data is received over Ethernet networks (cable networks) and allows multiple customer homes to connect with a single ISP server. Point-to-Point Protocol (the PPP in PPPoE) also enables authentication and authorization checks with username and password credentials.

eero does not support PPPoE. If your ISP requires PPPoE to access the internet, you will need to setup your eero network behind another router that does support PPPoE. For information on how to setup eero when your network requires PPPoE, please see this article.
