Hi @5286819,

Welcome to the community! Superfast and Ultrafast plans are now available for more information you may visit this link got to 'Superfast & Ultrafast Plans' tab.

Our NBN Home Superfast & NBN Home Ultrafast plans are currently supplied on a “BYO modem” basis for new customers, which means that you’ll need to supply your own modem.

Most modems in use today are technically capable of supporting speeds of approximately:

Up to 300Mbps over WiFi
Up to 600Mbps over Ethernet

The modem must support or feature:

  • PPPoE connection types
  • Gigabit Ethernet ports
  • AC WiFi or WiFi 6 (for WiFi connections).

If you wish to know more, I can arrange one of our Account Specialists to discuss plan information also on how to proceed with plan change.

You also have the option to change plan online, the article below will guide how.

How to Change NBN Plan Online via TPG My Account

Let me know should you require further assistance.

Regards,

Hi @5286819

We don't have any available list aside from the ones that we've posted in the community and our support page.

If you are thinking of upgrading to a new modem/router, then you need to make sure that it is compatible with the NBN technology.

You may check it directly on the website of the third party modem/router or contact their support for more information.

Hi Joseph,

When setting up my Huawei ax3 pro router/modem, I didn't come across any page or step that allow me to enable VLAN.  It is different to the link supplied by you.

Cheers

Hi @wing88

You may need to contact the Huawei support in order to check on this further on this feature with your own Huawei Ax3 pro router.

We based the information that we provide from the manual of a third party modem/router. If it did not work or if you are not able to see the said feature, it is better to contact the equipment manufacturer support for further assistance.

Hi Joseph-D

re. FTTP Ultrafast home speeds, especially speeds over wifi.

For FTTP, D-Link DIR-X5460 has been very unreliable, so maybe take this off the list from High Speed BYO modem recommendation page or put a note. It needs to be looked into more, maybe it works with other ISPs or other NBN types, not sure.

But again for FTTP, the TP-link AX series (ax50 or higher to be safe) I think works like a breeze! I got the ax73 (aka ax5400) and setup was an absolute breeze (decent price, good specs like triple core CPU, 512mb RAM).

The old TPlink archer c1200, although has single core cpu and wifi5 tech, still cannot handle high speed over wifi - for example in nbn1000 max speed over wifi was only 70-80Mbps, although it is a gigabit router and on 5GhZ band over 800Mbps should be theoretically possible.

I reckon people interested in getting the nbn1000 plans going forward are gonna need straightforward advise re. specs if it’s possible so that they can choose the correct router.

Cheers 😁
