Modem return

Hi, I have recently had nbn installed with a new modem, when i created my account and purchased nbn a temporary modem was sent to my house while i waited for nbn to be ready and installed and was told to return the old modem so I dont get charged. I'm just wondering what to do with the old modem and where to return it.
