Hi.

My current firmware for the Archer VR1600v v2 is
Firmware Version:1.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 190305 Rel.72906n

Hardware Version:Archer VR1600v v2 00000000

Can I please be updated to this firmware.
Firmware Version:1.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 200826 Rel.77218n

Hardware Version:Archer VR1600v v2 00000000

I keep having my wifi drop out to my PC, and its really impacting my work.

I;ve messed around with the settings based on the links I've found here, but they aren't helping. Please assist.

Hi @IAYLlk6NvH ,

Thanks for raising this to us. We'd like to confirm if the PC is connected on Wi-Fi using 5Ghz network, in the event that the PC is too far from the modem/router it could be the 5Ghz limitation that causing dropouts on the PC.

Note: The primary difference between the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies is range as the 2.4GHz frequency is able to reach farther than the 5GHz frequency. This is a result of the basic characteristics that waves attenuate much faster at higher frequencies.

We'd love to help request to push the modem/router to the latest firmware version, please send the following details below.

UN/CID:
Modem Details:
Modem:
Serial number:
Software version:

Here is how, How do I private message (PM) in the community

Regards,

Hi Shane,

Yes connected via 5ghz. The PC is probably 10meters away with no walls in between.

I've tried using the 2.4ghz and with my work, its noticible slower and more limiting than the 5ghz.
